Our custom built 750cc cross kart is our most capable high speed off road machine to date, but it's not perfect. In today's episode, we break one of the front spindles clean off drifting around a campfire, we fix it, build a jump and get mad air, break the OTHER spindle, fix it again, and race it around our Grand Prix for the fastest CarsandCameras Grand Prix time EVER!

Why not build a jump at the river crossing so you can fly over those rocks.couldnt be any harder on the frame and would knock a few seconds off the clock because you might not have to slow down.

I'd beef up the spindles around the bolt ('axle') area, drill them through, use longer higher grade bolts to go through the spindles, and make some bolt-on plates with hex pockets in them to hold the bolts in place rather than welding them on. Reasoning: -Moves the stress away from the shoulder of the bolt head -No welding, so no metallurgical change in the bolt material (not crystallizing it from too much heat from welding -Faster, easier, no-welder-required bolt replacement if you bend or snap them

YOU GUYS NEED TO PUT BIGGER- oh wait, you acknowledged it. Cool. Yeah, anyway, go for 4 wheeler spindles, wheels, and tires on the next version. And probably more upright suspension with a stiffer spring. Seems kinda under sprung and too bouncy at the same time.

Have you guys done anything to the front suspension yet? Need a stronger spindle lol that things a beast. Have you thought about mounting your front shocks straighter up and down. I would try and find a way to bring the shock closer to the frame on the a arm side and higher up chassis side. You’ll get a better ratio and get more travel from the same shock

Every time I see this cross kart using lightweight go kart axles I cringe. If it lets go at high speed it would not be a enjoyable experience. Would love to see it redone with large ATV/Side by side type hubs and brakes.

Why not fix the river crossing with a solid concrete bottom, concrete angle of attack as well as a concrete angle of departure? Bearing in mind that water will again undercut the concrete during water flow. As mentioned earlier, a bridge for winter time would be a much approach with winter and high rain events in the forefront of your mind while building the bridge(s). A low water crossing and a high water crossing may be the 4 season approach to your track(s). More than like a call to arms may even bring a horde of (army) of hands to help build your solutions.

you need 4 cheap scales from Wal mart or somewhere, jack it up and let it down with 1 under each tire and you should get an accurate weight

Easy fix get some adjustable suspension/quality stuff (nitrogen) or the correct spring rates for weight as you watch it loosing traction as wheels hop. Sure you will sort it

Idk if you guy know but using a welding mask that has auto darkening harms your eyes, there’s a spit second before the mask darkens where you see the ark, and after years of using one you can got blind. Switch to a flip hood

Hey guys, I advise to take out these trees making a "chicane" or "lane switch" inside the forest, before the water crossing. If you have a failure in suspension/steering, such as the ones previously occurred, it could end bad.

If those premade weld-on gocart sized spindles worked then everybody would be using them instead of making something stronger from scratch. Gotta go bigger. When you are wire welding you have to clean the weld after you stop . You cant just lay more weld on top of slag. There isnt much space to give up to occlusions on such a small diameter weld. You guys try though. A for effort

Box blade on tractor will do more smoothing and digging out work than that front end loader box will if you out enough weight on box blade.. No upwards lip on any jump as it causes the rear end to want to fly over the dront end.flip you... Roll the upper last foot or so over and downwards..
